Arsenal to activate Asensio's release clause

Arsenal are reportedly keen on activating Marco Asensio's £70m release clause this summer. 

The Premier League side are thought to looking to add to their attacking options in the current transfer window as Alexis Sanchez's future at the club remains in doubt with Manchester City making move to sign the Chile international. 

According to Don Balon, Wenger could instead turn his attention Madrid's Asensio and may be prepared to trigger the 21-year-old's £72m release clause, following a string of stirring displays from the Spaniard.

The same source does, however, state that Asensio is not interested in a move away from the Spanish capital, after establishing himself at the centre of Zinedine Zidane's plans for the future.
