Juve pay for Madrid defeat

Juventus have been fined to pay a €400,000 penalty to stop their end of season celebration after losing 4-1 to Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

The Italian giants had already won the Coppa Italia and Scudetto, so were keen on for their first Treble in Cardiff, a defeat to Madrid made it impossible to happen.

The Old Lady had already organized a party that will cost them €1million to stage in Turin, but it was called off which means the €400,000 deposit was non-refundable, according to newspaper Libero.

A stampede in the fanzone at Piazza San Carlo in Turin, which left over 1,500 people injured, including a child in critical condition, and a woman later died from her injuries, is another reason for the celebration to be cancelled.
