Zidane makes Cris plea?

Report has it that Zinedine Zidane has called Cristiano Ronaldo in a bid to convince him on staying at Real Madrid.

According to publication from Marca in Spain, Zidane's word "counts for a lot" as the "first thing" he did was to call Ronaldo and ask him whether reports about him leaving Madrid are true.

Zidane, who is currently on holiday with his family in Italy, is "confident" that the situation has merely stemmed from "the heat of the moment" and will "sit down" the Portugal international once they both return to Spain.

However, the report also suggests that the coach will not standing in Ronaldo's way, should he insist on leaving.
