Barcelona make shock move for Real Madrid talented midfielder

Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic has emerged as transfer target for Barcelona new boss Ernesto Valverde.

According to Don Balon, Valverde is a long-term admirer of the 23-year-old and could launch a shocking bid to bring over to Camp Nou ahead of new season.

Kovacic made 73 appearances for Madrid since summer switch from Inter Milan in 2015, however, and it has been claimed that the midfielder is considering his future at the Bernabeu.
